Esmeralda holds very little about you, and you decide who meets any of it. This page says what we hold, what we do with it, and every choice that is yours.

Where You Begin

You arrive kept to yourself. That is written into your account the moment you join, rather than a setting waiting somewhere for you to find it. From there you read every home, save the ones you love, write to an owner or an agency, and read what comes back — the whole of Esmeralda, while you remain yours alone. Anybody who hears from you hears from you because you chose to write.

When You Are Ready To Be Found

Two doors open from there, and the choosing is yours.

Property Managers Can Find Me. Agencies and owners with a home to let can find you and write to you. This door is theirs alone.

Open To Everybody. Property managers and other Esmeraldas can both find you. This is the one that fills a house fastest and the one that shows you most.

Move between the three as often as you like. Your words stay exactly where they are while you do.

The Days You Would Rather Be Quiet

Set yourself away and you are kept to yourself again, whatever else you had chosen. Your choices wait for you exactly as you left them, and come back with you.

Where A Home Sits

A home tells you its suburb and what lies near it. Its exact position is read on our own server, only ever to work out what sits close to what, and it stays there.

What We Hold

Your name, and how to reach you. What you are looking for, and roughly when — ready now, a few weeks away, two or three months, later in the year, having a look for now, or in your own words where none of those is quite it. Whatever you choose to write in your Portrait and in your messages.

What We Do With It

We introduce you to homes, and homes to you. We keep your searches and your saved homes ready for the next time you sign in. We write to you when a home arrives that suits what you told us.

Who Meets Your Words

Your words stay with Esmeralda. Madame Monet is the roof over five businesses and knows that you joined this one — what you wrote here stays here, under this roof alone.

How Long We Keep It

For as long as your account is open. Close it and what we hold goes with it, apart from the few records the law asks us to keep.

What You Can Ask Us For

A copy of all we hold, in a form you can keep. A correction, where we have it wrong. Removal. Write to us and we act on it.
